I'm just your typical young adult: energetic, playful and curious.  So don't be surprised if I'm right next to you all day every day watching what you're doing. Having another young, playful cat in my new home might be really good for me.  I love to play with all types of toys such as toy mice, wand toys, and pretty much anything that makes a fun noise.  I also really enjoy having my neck and ears scratched, you'll know you hit the right spot when I start purring.  One thing I really don't like though is being picked up and held.  I prefer to have my 4 feet planted firmly on the ground thank you very much.  If an energetic and loving cat is what you're searching for, hurry in and meet me soon!

Mallory 3Y 8M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

I’ve appointed myself the official NAHS greeter… kind of like the Walmart greeter, minus the blue vest. I don’t think blue is my color.

I’m quite friendly and like to be admired whenever you have the time. I like chasing little toy mice, and when the mood strikes, I can be a little nosy. Yes, I can open cabinet doors and maybe even some drawers. I’m quite resourceful.

I need to be the only pet in the house because I don’t want to share your affection with any others. Quite frankly, once you have me, there’s no need for anyone else.

Did you know cats used to be worshiped? I say we bring that back and everyone treats me like the royalty I am. I can be very independent and do things at my own time and pace. Much like my ancestors before me, I like to chase and pounce at my toys. I would prefer to be the only pet in your house that way I can get all the attention to myself. I think I would like if children in my new home were a little bit older and understand that I will sometimes need my space. So if a playful, fun cat is what you're after, hurry on in to say hi!

Lyra 10Y 11M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

Are you interested in music, astronomy, or mythology?  If you are then you already know that in Greek it means lyre or lyrical.  And that there is a whole story behind the constellation, but I won't get into those details.  After all, you're here for me, not a history lesson.  I'm used to a quiet home without many visitors and would prefer to be the only animal in my home.  According to my previous owners, I'm an independent cat so you won't need to worry about me walking across your computer.  However I would love for you to play with me.  I enjoy feather toys, toy mice, and the laser pointer.  If you're a mellow person searching for a mellow cat, I just might be the one for you.

Midas 13Y 6M Domestic Shorthair Male Available No

King Midas here waiting patiently (sort of) on my throne until you come visit (or feed) me.  While I do like the title of king, I promise you won't turn to gold when I touch you!  Though I have touched the hearts of many people I have met, so you could say I have a heart of gold.  My age has made me wiser than most of my fellow cats at the shelter, and therefore am not a fan of joining them in their tomfoolery.  So if there is another cat in my home, I think it would be best if they were also on the more mature side.  I would also prefer if there were no dogs residing in my new home as they are quite loud and disturb my sleep.  So if your house is in need of royalty, stop by soon and ask to see King Midas.
